The National Health Service
Hospitalised Foreign Nationals who are ineligible for treatment within the National Health Service can be a drain upon public funds and difficult to repatriate to their own countries.
Those requiring long-term care or rehabilitation can be escorted to their Country of origin using a Goldfinch medical escort, hence freeing up valuable bed space.
Through direct contact with Bed Managers, we are able to offer repatriations at a substantially lower cost than long-term ongoing treatment in a UK hospital.
If the patient is assessed as being well enough to fly on a commercial flight rather than an expensive Critical Care Air Ambulance, then this can be arranged.
In fact many Hospital Managers are unaware of just how early in the recuperation period this can be safely undertaken.
Goldfinch can take the strain of making such arrangements out of the hands of the Hospital Managers. Sourcing medical staff with the experience and the relevant documentation to enter a patient’s home country can be provided.
We liaise with the treating medical team to confirm what arrangements are required for the patients, both medically and emotionally.
Full responsibility of the patient’s wellbeing is taken care of, from the UK hospital bed to that overseas.
