Intensive Care on Airliners

Lufthansa is unique in so far as it can provide a PTC, their Patient Transport Compartment on some flights.

Essentially it is a self-contained intensive care unit in the air.

Seats are removed from the aircraft and the compartment is fitted in their place. Because of its size it can only be fitted in the larger long-haul aircraft.

This allows an intensive care patient to travel on a long-haul flight. It is an alternative to using an air ambulance.

In comparison it is faster, requires fewer stops and is much more comfortable. It can also be considerably cheaper.

In cooperation with Lufthansa Goldfinch can provide a PTC if required.
